KENYSL.com @ OPPO Find 7 Launch Event
Yesterday, I was at the launch event for the much anticipated OPPO Find 7 that was held at Pullman KL Bangsar. Media registration started at 3:30pm but the event didn't start until 4:30pm; too much of a leeway in my opinion and I overheard people who share the same piece of mind. At least OPPO Malaysia provided enough spring rolls for everyone on scene. Two showgirls holding the Find 7 and Find 7a were also there for people to take photos of.
So finally it was about time the event started so members of the media, dealers and guests were allowed into the ballroom where the main event would happen. I was surprised to find out that there was actually dinner after the event, pretty generous of OPPO Malaysia. The itinerary of the day is included down below as well as the dinner menu.

After a quick introduction by the emcee of the day, the event carried on with a dance performance which strays away from the usual dancers holding phones kinda choreography, the dancers danced with elements of the Find 7 that were being shown on the big screen. Anyhow, I'm still glad to see something new.
After the dance performance, there was a photo opt with the main people of OPPO Malaysia which lead to all members of the media rushing in front of the stage to get their money shot. Me, being me decided to stay still and instead grab a photo from OPPO Malaysia's Facebook page.
After the photo opt, the event carried on with a branding speech by Ms Chen Lu, Brand Manager of OPPO Malaysia. She talked about what stance does OPPO take on their latest product, the Find 7's R&D process and the sort.
Moving on, Assistant CEO, Ms Candice Liu took the stage and did a demonstration of the features available on the Find 7. My DSLR was running low on battery so I had to switch to my phone's camera. And from that moment onwards, I swear to always check the charge of my DSLR. Apologies for the crap photos here, skip it if you want cause like OPPO Malaysia's CEO said later during the event: "Almost every detail of the Find 7 is available on the internet, so I won't need to repeat the same thing to you"
After the lengthy product introduction, CEO Mr William Fang took the stage and did a quick speech in English. He then continued his speech in Mandarin that not many members of the media paid attention to as not everyone understood Mandarin. In his speech, I seem to have heard something about the N1 Mini launching in October. Take that with a grain of salt though as I have terribad hearing.
Next up, I finally got the chance to play around with the Find 7. Quick first impressions would be that it still features the nice soft to the touch back found on the N1, I can't really see the difference between the 2K display and the FHD display though, but that is based on a few minutes of playtime. Hoping I can get a more in-depth review done within the next month though.
The one above is the Find 7a, the one below is the Find 7. Can you see the difference?
After getting to play with the phone around a bit, we proceed to have dinner where a lot of the media left pre-emptively. After being full from just 3 dishes, I decided to take my leave too. That about sums it up for the event and as usual... *cough* OPPO send me both for review please *cough*
